Session 4 - Consultation With Users – Are We On The Same Page? Consultations between airports and aircraft operators has been a perennial issue with many success stories and frustrations. Reconciling the long-term planning horizon of airports and the short-term strategies of airlines is the key to a successful outcome. However, the multitude of interests of airlines operating at an airport, the interests of the community the airport serves and the need for incentives to build and invest in infrastructure is often cause for dissent. Several case studies and airline interventions will inform the audience of best practices and highlight the issues that need to be addressed in a consultation process.
