Dear Delegate, I look forward to welcoming you to the 3rd ACI EUROPE Small and Medium sized Airport Action group (SMAG) Conference and Exhibition. This group was created in June 2006 to better address the specific needs of the small and medium size airport members of ACI EUROPE, providing them with a more visible platform to exchange knowledge, share best practices and discuss issues of common interest. SMAG has grown rapidly and now comprises some 150 ACI EUROPE members and is gaining influence and gravitas with the EU institutions.  The programme of this event was carefully designed by the group, taking into account not only all the challenges currently facing regional airports, but also some more creative solutions to generate traffic and revenue. I am particularly pleased that this event should take place in Croatia, at the invitation of Dubrovnik Airport, one of the most active members of SMAG.  The airport has worked hard in securing the perfect conditions for extensive networking and exchange of ideas. The first-class hospitality promises to be exceptional and I am confident that you will enjoy a fruitful and memorable conference.
